A house by a road that runs along the Syrian-Lebanese border. Regularly shelled by Assad’s army. Syrians cross the unofficial border at night and seek shelter in Lebanon. Syrian troops fire at groups of refugees, using heavy weapons. Many civilians are injured or killed while trying to escape the country. The refugees are mainly women and children. However, the rebels also cross the border that way, hiding among the civilian population.

Ahmad, a refugee from Syria. Father of four sons, three of whom were killed in their homeland. Together there are eight orphaned children. Over 250,000 victims and countless wounded and injured will be remembered forever by those who fled the Syrian war. Every visit to any displaced Syrian family means witnessing their refugee plight, their struggle with poverty, and also touches upon what they had left behind, when they had fled to Lebanon.
